Spring and autumn. March through May, then September into October, when rain softens the ground and worms come back near the surface. They don’t hibernate, they just dig deeper when the ground hardens in high summer or freezes in winter, which is why the damage seems to stop and then reappear. If you saw mounds in May and they’ve gone quiet, the mole almost certainly hasn’t.

No, and never have. We use mechanical traps set below the surface in tunnels we’ve confirmed are active. Poison bait depends on a mole eating something that isn’t a live earthworm, and even when it works you have no way of knowing. A trap gives you the mole.

Yes. The traps sit below ground level inside the tunnel. There’s nothing on your lawn for a dog to dig up or a child to find, no chemicals, no bait stations, nothing left behind.
